A lot of the problem with the movies Disney is remaking as “live action’ is that they’re not MEANT to be live action. Many of them had a distinct use of art style, talking animals, and visual elements that simply don’t look as nice in a hyperrealistic medium no matter how well you apply special effects. And a lot of elements are so fantastical that you’d need copius amounts of CGI to replicate it in ‘real’ life but you still wouldn’t get the same feel.
The digitally-rendered animals in The Lion King look awkward. Dumbo looks nightmarish with his humanlike eyes. Beauty and the Beast felt lackluster with its dull realism instead of the saturated animation.
Now, Atlantis and Treasure Planet would work brilliantly in a realistic medium because it deals with mostly-human characters and visual effects in those movies would transition flawlessly into live action. The alien creatures of Treasure Planet, the pirate’s ships and technology would look beautiful if rendered into realism. Atlantis would work even better with an all-human cast and their technology, and it’d doubly work as a chance to cast nonwhite actors into lead roles.

I don’t know what else to say or do but for the past few years we have been struggling so much because of my mother being reckless with her money she put two of her cars in a title loan place and lost both our cars within a week , cars she has had for many years gone just like that. You may ask “don’t you have a job” I did ! But then I was hit with severe depression over a surgery I had and I had less hours but I still tried to work just to help my mom but all she did was pawn my jewelry and most of my things that I worked hard for. When my mother had surgery I helped her even though I just had my surgery and I wasn’t supposed to but a lot of strain on my back I was there for literally everyone in my family. We had our electricity , heat , phones, and had no food for weeks because she wouldn’t want to pay the bills the money I had would go towards buying food and paying some bills but after a while I really couldn’t do it on my own I started getting sick I would faint and my body would feel weak in a month id be in the hospital 7 times its awful and its still happening now more than before. some of you may not know but I have a brother who has autism I don’t have a problem with him taking care of him but I’m worried when we have no food or light and I have to lie to him and say some bs story just so he doesn’t stress out. But because I didn’t want to leave my brother alone I would not go to the hospital and I would suck it up and that proved to be a horrible idea because now I have a high fever and a bad ear infection and I’m in bed rest so now I can’t help at all and to top it off my insurance won’t cover most of my medications.

So we ended up needing to fix the heater it was originally 180 but they noticed it wasnt working even after trying to fix it for 4 hours so now to replace it its going to be 500+ dollars and this is after a friend discount i honestly cant afford it right now and it has been snowing all week it gets below 15 here at night please consider helping

one of the millions of things i liked about spider-verse was that not only did all the female characters look different from each other, they gave mary jane her classic dimples and square chin, which might not seem like a big deal but you’d be surprised how much tiny details like those can make women in comic books look distinct
also seriously it feels like some animated films are pushing it to have two female characters who look even slightly different so i appreciate that spider-verse made sure every woman in it looked distinct from each other

Does anyone remember a post circulating back in April about an LGBTQ bookstore in Ann Arbor? They posted a status on Facebook about how they didn’t have any books sales that day?
The post circulated tumblr for a couple of days and their Facebook page was swarmed with likes and support, suddenly they had more online orders than they ever had before. They announced that had roughly 700 online orders with only a staff of three people and a dog to fill them, and even with the deluge of orders they would still be struggling to stay open.
Unfortunately, that’s how the story is winding up for them. They recently announced that they would be closing and I thought it’d be nice to send them off with one last hoorah!
If you have the available funds, then maybe consider helping them out. Here’s a link to their website. It may not be a great start to the New Year, but it may make it easier for them,
